WOW can you tell October is my busiest month of travel or
what?? Did not mean to let this much
time go by in between posts . . . . I have been so nonstop with work, any spare
time I had went to family then sleep.
Thank gosh October is over! You
can always follow me in between on Twitter (@travelermama) or on Facebook
(travelermama). Anyways, back at it now
and working on an informative blog coming shortly about going through TSA
screening and detectors while pregnant.
But in the meantime here’s a fun Top 10 I thought of while traveling
today.
I always notice my fellow business travelers who board with
me in my “zone” . . . however today I really looked around and noticed how easy
it is to pick those of us out who are there every week. So on a light hearted note, here’s the Top 10
ways business travelers stick out of the crowd -
#10 – No matter what the season or city, we are always
dressed weather neutral. No shorts,
flip-flops, or maxi skirts. We always have
some sort of coat or jacket or sweater.
Which is never a big puffy winter coat.
#9 – We are always on our iPhone/Blackberry/iPad/laptop . .
. both before boarding and during the whole boarding process until the very
last minute before they close the airplane door
#8 – Speaking of boarding, we are in line to board loooooooong
before the gate agent makes any sort of boarding announcement
#7 – On flights to fun/vacation destination such as Orlando,
Las Vegas, or international destinations . . . we are the few who are not
wearing vacation gear or are not in vacation party mode
#6 – We are the ones who will tell you when we are in a
holding pattern or are headed to the “parking lot” before the captain makes any
sort of announcement
#5 – We are those people zig-zagging past you through the
airport crowds power walking with suitcase in one hand and Starbucks or other
coffee in the other
#4 – We are usually traveling by ourselves . . . maximum
group of 3. No kids.
#3 – You will hear us reference destinations not by city
name, but by airport code. LAX, ORD,
EWR, ATL, SFO . . . .
#2 – You never see business travelers check a bag. Ever.
No matter how long the trip. We
can cram many many days worth of things into that carry-on to avoid checking it
at all costs.
#1 – Speaking of bags . . . . we never ever have carry-on
luggage or workbag which is pink or purple or red or plaid. Black black black black black.
